EVM is a software architecture that enables developers to create decentralized Ethereum applications. The EVM has also been used to develop projects similar to NFTs and the Metaverse.

Highlights of Ethereum Consensus Layer meeting 92
In Consensus-layer Call 92, they've discussed about a few agendas like GSF5, MSF10, issues related to Merge, and more. They also announced GSF6 and it is planned for next week.

EF academic grants round gratees
39 grant recipients were chosen for the Ethereum Foundation's most recent Academic Grants Round, and more than $2 million has been distributed among them. This funding round solicited academic ideas from scholars, think tanks, Ph.D. students, and anyone else interested in improving knowledge about the Ethereum ecosystem. Research teams from Australia, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam are among those whose projects were approved, with grants ranging widely in scope and geographic representation.

Fed Hikes Interest Rate by 75BPS
The decision to boost rates was followed by rising inflation in an effort to reduce the strain on the economy and the people's financial situation. The decision reflects the Fed's sincere attempts to stop inflation from rising to 9.1 percent, the highest level ever seen in the previous 40 years.

US GDP declined by 0.9%
Since the United States reported its second consecutive quarterly fall in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, indicating a "technical recession," the world's financial markets have erupted. According to figures released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the nation's annualised second-quarter economic growth decreased by 0.9%.

Lawsuit against Terra Labs and Do Kwon
An unfair class action lawsuit has been filed against the parent firm, Terraform Labs. The Northern District of California United States District Court is where the case has been filed.

Do Kwon issued a "Notice on Arrival" in South Korea
The Terra controversy, which was the cause of the 2022 crypto market crisis, is a story right out of a tv series. South Korean prosecutors looking into the Terra scandal have requested that CEO Do Kwon get a "notice upon arrival" from the Ministry of Justice.

Binance CEO has filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, often known by his alias CZ, is suing Bloomberg Businessweek in the Hong Kong High court for slander. The CEO of the biggest cryptocurrency exchange filed a lawsuit, claiming that the article published by Bloomberg Businessweek on July 6 defamed him. He said that fabricated and unverified criminal accusations were put on the report's cover and in the accompanying news that was released.

SEC reportedly investigating Coinbase over crypto trading
Coinbase is facing a US probe into whether it improperly let Americans trade digital assets that should have been registered as securities. This probe is being led by the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission).

NFT sale for the Ethereum core devs
A NFT benefit sale for the Ethereum core developers working on the Merge was announced by Stateful Works as "New Home of the Heart"! To commemorate this significant achievement of the approaching Merge, they are holding an NFT exhibition and sale. The Protocol Guild, the participating artists, and the organisers will provide a portion of all ETH earnings. to the developers.

Optimism began a new onboarding process
Regardless of the user's prior cryptocurrency experience, Optimism just launched a new onboarding flow to educate new users to Optimism in an approachable manner. Users will be able to claim an NFT after completion that features artwork that reflects their interests. They've also incorporated a key crypto primitive NFTs. After starting, users can mint 1 of 5 NFTs, each representing an unique building in the city of optimism, from the Optimistic Explorer Collection on quixotic_io.

Mirror launches subscriptions for Web3
The introduction of web3 subscriptions has been announced by Mirror. With this new function, users may now subscribe to any Mirror publication using their wallets and get email notifications whenever new content is published. Web3 subscriptions give authors the opportunity to establish a wallet-based community that can be utilised throughout web3.

StarkEx transactions have surpassed 200 million
For the blockchain industry, StarkWare develops STARK-based solutions. Their solutions enable scalable, secure, and trustless blockchain applications. StarkEx has successfully executed more than 200 million transactions since its launch, as per a tweet from Starkware.

OpenZeppelin Security Research Fellowship programme has been announced
The Fellowship 8-week programme, which is organized by OpenZepplin, seeks to comprehensively onboard and train candidates to become full-time Blockchain Security Researchers. Fellows will have the chance to collaborate directly with the OpenZeppelin team's leading blockchain security professionals in order to build the knowledge and competencies necessary to launch their careers in the field. Candidates can apply until August 10th for 2022 Q3.

Rainbow now supports NFTs
A quick and safe method to create an Ethereum wallet, collect NFTs, and explore the Web3 space is through Rainbow. According to a statement made by Rainbow, its mainnet now accepts NFTs from the Arbiturm, Optimism, and Polygon blockchains.

Huff - new smart contract language released
Huff is said to be the most gas-optimized smart contract language to ever touch the EVM. It enables you to optimize your contracts by up to 80% compared to other languages like Solidity and Vyper. Huff is an extremely low-level assembly-like language designed for developing highly optimized smart contracts for the Ethereum Virtual Machine.

Rocket pool's Redstone upgrade and 1000 ETH deposit
Redstone is the name of the Rocket Pool release that includes The Merge compatibility. This upgrade will be launched before The Merge of the mainnet. A 1000 ETH has been deposited in the Rocket pool which will eventually help in staking as Rocket pool is an ETH staking protocol.

Vitalik Buterin on Vyper
Vyper is a contract-oriented, pythonic programming language that targets the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Vitalik shared a tweet stating that "Vyper is quietly continuing to progress and become a better and better Ethereum high-level language."

Update on Akula
The most recent Erigon client implementation in Rust is called Akula. Nearly twice as quickly as Erigon, Akula can synchronise an Ethereum Full Archive Node (about 35 and a half hours)

OP labs launched Drippie to secure optimism
Drippie is a native conditional transaction solution for Ethereum that minimises trust. It enables us to programme the collections of checks and actions known as "drips" in Solidity. The majority of the daily on-chain operations required by Optimism may be completed by this straightforward yet effective model.

Nexus Mutual announces ETH2 Staking Cover
Nexus Mutual is an Ethereum-based platform that creates insurance products with community-driven management and financials. They have announced ETH2 Staking Cover, the most comprehensive protection against missed rewards and penalties incurred by validators.

Swell Network Mainnet Release Candidate is Live
Prior to the Merge, Swell Network liquid staking will offer its much awaited, next-generation liquid staking solution for Ethereum. This is just one step away from mainnet going live. This accomplishment comes after a thorough, multi-phase Mainnet Launch Test Schedule was finished, in which the protocol's community of stakeholders and node operators actively participated and provided input.

Synapse Protocol details
The first sovereign execution environment devoted to the creation of cross-chain applications and primitives is called Synapse Chain. All Synapse Chain blocks will be created by a sequencer and saved inside an Ethereum smart contract, as is typical of most rollup architectures. Gas will initially be paid in ETH when the network launches, but the DAO may look into ways to tie chain usage to SYN.

Immutable X early access to Gamestop wallet
The GameStop wallet is now natively interoperable with the whole protocol thanks to Immutable's integration of the wallet with the Immutable X Link infrastructure. Now, any Immutable X partner or marketplace that supports Link will have a native option to join and trade that includes the GameStop wallet.
