Highlights of Ethereum Devs Call

  • Devnet-7 is still operational and undergoing tooling updates, while work is in progress on Devnet-8.
  • Three PRs are being considered for inclusion in Devnet-8. These PRs will be discussed in the 4844 call on Monday, with a final decision before ACDC the following week.
  • The team discussed edge cases related to EIP-6780 (SELFDESTRUCT removal). Two bullets in the PR were uncontroversial, but the third one seems to have an impact on users.
  • Two execution APIs PRs were agreed upon and will be merged. Another PR was discussed, but a consensus was not reached.
  • The formal specification for the EIP/ERCs split is now available. Client teams are inclined to move forward with this, although an alternative proposal from Greg is also being considered.
